KanBananza terms of use

Last updated: 21 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using KanBananza: the browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, the desktop app, Pip the AI helper, and this website. Please read them, along with our privacy policy. They don’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.

Who we are

KanBananza is an independent app made in the UK. You can contact us at [email protected]. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy sells to you as our reseller (see Buying Full Bananza).

What you get

  • KanBananza free: up to 3 boards, with cards, focus tools, every accessibility option and Harvard referencing. Free for as long as you like.
  • Full Bananza: the paid features, like more boards, sync across your computers and every referencing style. It comes as a yearly plan or a lifetime plan. Lifetime plus Pip (also called a degree bundle) is lifetime with Pip for a number of years, paid once.
  • Pip, the AI helper: with the yearly plan with Pip, Lifetime plus Pip (also called a degree bundle), the Pip add-on or a Pip pass, and as a few tries of each action in the free week. See Pip below.

KanBananza keeps your boards on your own computer. It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge and Firefox (version 140 or newer), and in the desktop app. Some features use the internet, and only when you choose them: see the privacy policy.

The free week

When you install KanBananza, you get 7 days of Full Bananza free, including a few tries of each of Pip’s actions. You don’t give any payment details, and nothing is charged when it ends: KanBananza simply goes back to the free version, and everything you made stays.

Buying Full Bananza

  • Who you pay: payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which sells KanBananza to you as our reseller (the “merchant of record”). Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, adds any tax, and sends your receipt and licence key by email. Its buyer terms cover the payment. These terms cover KanBananza itself.
  • Prices: shown on this website and at checkout, in pounds, with your own currency at checkout. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
  • Plans that renew: the yearly plan and the Pip add-on renew every year, at the price shown when you bought it unless we tell you about a change before your renewal. You can cancel any time: the renewal stops, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
  • Plans paid once: lifetime, Pip passes and Lifetime plus Pip (degree bundles) are paid once and never renew. Pip in a pass or in Lifetime plus Pip lasts for its number of years from when you buy it.
  • Cancelling a renewal: use Manage subscription (your Lemon Squeezy orders page), or Settings → Your plan in KanBananza, or email us.
  • One person, their own computers: a licence key is for you, on your own computers. Please don’t share it, sell it or post it online. We may switch off a key that’s being shared.

Your right to cancel, and refunds

Under UK law you can usually cancel a purchase made online within 14 days. For digital content like Full Bananza, that right ends once you start using it, if you agreed at checkout to get it straight away and acknowledged that you’d lose the right to cancel.

We don’t give refunds if you change your mind once you’ve started using what you bought. That’s why there’s a free week: try everything first, with no payment details.

If Full Bananza or Pip doesn’t work as described, tell us. You’re entitled to have it fixed or replaced, or, if that can’t be done, to some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Pip, the AI helper

  • Pip is AI. When you press one of Pip’s buttons, what that job needs is sent to our AI server, which works out Pip’s suggestions with an AI model. See the privacy policy for what’s sent and kept.
  • Pip can make mistakes. It can get things wrong, miss things out or make up details, like dates, steps, names and reference details. Don’t rely on facts from Pip without checking them yourself.
  • You choose what to keep. You see everything Pip suggests before it’s added, and nothing is added unless you choose to add it. Adding Pip’s suggestions means you’ve chosen to use them, so please check them first. Once added, they’re yours to edit or delete like anything else.
  • Not advice. Pip helps you plan and organise. It doesn’t give professional, medical, legal, financial or academic advice.
  • Your own work. Pip plans and breaks down work: it doesn’t write your assignments. Check your school’s, university’s or course’s rules on using AI, and follow them.
  • What Pip won’t help with: Pip won’t help anyone do, plan or get something harmful, or give how-to details of it, whatever the reason given. This includes violence, weapons, terrorism and extremism, crime (like fraud, theft, scams, hacking or stalking), getting or selling illegal drugs, making sexual content, abuse or exploitation, hate or harassment, and dangerous stunts.
  • Studying these topics is fine: Pip will plan a criminal law essay, a history of terrorism, a drug policy assignment or a crime novel, without how-to details of anything harmful.
  • Pauses: before every answer, Pip reads what was sent as a whole, to understand what you’re trying to do. A word or topic on its own never pauses Pip. If it asks for help with something harmful, Pip doesn’t answer and is paused for that licence key, or for that free week. The first pause is 10 minutes, then an hour, a day, 3 days, and 7 days for each one after that. A month with no pauses starts the count again. The rest of KanBananza keeps working, and the action counts towards your allowance. Pip’s checks are automatic and can sometimes get it wrong, which is why the first pause is only 10 minutes.
  • Ending Pip: if Pip keeps being paused, or someone tries to use Pip to cause serious harm, we may end Pip for that licence key. We’ll tell you by email if we can. If you paid for Pip, we’ll refund the part of what you paid for Pip that you haven’t used. The rest of KanBananza keeps working.
  • If you’re struggling: if what you send sounds like you might hurt yourself, Pip doesn’t pause. It shows where to find help instead, like Samaritans (call 116 123 in the UK, free, any time). If you’re in danger now, call 999.
  • Fair use and limits: each plan with Pip includes a number of Pip actions a month, shown in Settings → Pip. Please don’t try to get round Pip’s checks or limits. We may stop Pip for anyone who keeps trying.
  • When Pip is unavailable: Pip needs our server and our AI provider, so it can sometimes be busy or down. We’ll do our best to keep it running and to fix problems quickly.

Referencing tools and guides

  • Check your handbook. KanBananza’s references and our referencing guides are here to help, but they don’t replace your school’s, university’s or course’s own guide. Styles like Harvard vary between universities. Check your references against your handbook, and ask your tutor or library if you’re not sure. You’re responsible for your own work.
  • Style names: APA Style, MLA, The Chicago Manual of Style, MHRA, OSCOLA, IEEE, AMA, Vancouver (Citing Medicine) and Cite Them Right belong to their owners. KanBananza isn’t connected with, approved by or endorsed by any of them. We use their names only to say which style a format follows.
  • Credits: references are formatted with citeproc-js (© Frank Bennett), used under the Common Public Attribution License 1.0. Its source code is at github.com/Juris-M/citeproc-js, and any terms that differ from that licence are offered by KanBananza alone. Citation styles are from the Citation Style Language project (citationstyles.org), under CC BY-SA 3.0, and each style lists its own authors.

Not a medical product

KanBananza is a to-do and planning tool, designed with ADHD, dyslexic and other brains in mind. It isn’t a medical device, it doesn’t diagnose, treat or manage ADHD, dyslexia or any other condition, and nothing in it is medical advice.

Using KanBananza

  • Use KanBananza lawfully, and don’t try to break, overload or get round its paid features or limits.
  • What you make in KanBananza is yours. Because it’s kept on your own computer, please keep backups: KanBananza makes daily backups and can export everything (Settings → Your data).
  • KanBananza, its design, Pip and this website belong to us. You may use them as these terms allow, but not copy or resell them.

Our responsibility to you

  • If we break these terms or don’t use reasonable care, we’re responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We aren’t responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable.
  • If KanBananza damages your device or other digital content because we didn’t use reasonable care and skill, we’ll repair the damage or pay you compensation.
  • KanBananza is for personal use. We aren’t responsible for business losses, like lost profit or lost business opportunities.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.

Changes

We improve KanBananza often, and the stores update it for you. We may change these terms too, for example for new features or changes in the law. If a change matters to you, we’ll say so in KanBananza or by email before it applies. If we make a change that takes away something important you’ve paid for, you can stop using it and ask for a refund for the time left.

The law

These terms are under the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep any rights the law where you live gives you.
