From sixth form to first year: what changes at university?

One lesson on how assignments change after school: longer briefs, deadlines that cluster, a set referencing style and AI rules. Students finish with a first-term board to fill in.

Fits with

Year 13 tutor time, EPQ and transition weeks, sixth-form study skills, first-year induction and study skills.

Before you teach

The first-year brief is invented and labelled as practice. Students can mark it with the brief marker and build the board at starting university.

Students can mark a brief on screen with the brief marker, with nothing to install and nothing sent anywhere, and carry on with the full route in their own time. Timings and teacher prompts are in the teacher notes.
